I was pretty serious about cycling for quite a few years (I got started with the Transcontinental Race from London to Istanbul), but recently decided to move on to another sport (still TBD). In the meantime I thought it could be interesting to try and leverage some of my cycling fitness to see what kind of a middle distance runner I could be if I dedicated myself to that goal for 16 straight weeks.
I did a similar project with swimming (which I enjoy even less than running), with the goal of getting under 1 minute for 100 yards. At my final meet I swam, of course, a 1:00.01.
